Interview

1.Where are you from?
I am from Stockport and have lived there all my life and I am 34 years old (28 when i filmed Big Chimp).

2.How did you get involved in Big Chimp?
I got involved in Big Chimp through Vanessa Worsley who knows Howell; she recruited Sharon (Anne Sparrow) who is one of my best friends and she asked me if I would like to get involved.

3.What filmmaking experience did you have before making Big Chimp?
I have had no acting experience before this except a few minor roles in school performances at secondary school ...I also took drama for my G.C.S.Es.

4.What was the most difficult thing about playing Jack Plisken?
I think the most difficult thing about playing Jack was the lack of acting experience and that I didn't really know hardly anyone there, but they all made me feel really welcome. Also, the sexy scene I have to do with Anne on the boat was very hard as I used to be her boyfriend when I was in my teens and all those years later when we are like brother and sister was a bit weird. I also wasn't sure how to play the character - I wasn't sure whether to play him like an American or English or whether to play him as an Indiana Jones type character or something else ....I'll let you decide after you have watched it on what you think I decided on LOL.

5.What's your favourite film featuring an ape / monkey / gorilla / chimpanzee / orangutan, and why?
My favourite monkey film is Congo. I just love little Amy in this film and how she sticks up for the humans at the end against the killer monkeys he he.

6.Tell us a fascinating fact about yourself.
At the moment I can't think of a fascinating fact about myself. That's a hard question to answer without sounding BIG HEADED LOL.

7.What have you been up to since filming Big Chimp in 2006?
Since we finished Big Chimp, I have been looking after my daughter Crystal who is now 8 years old and am currently living in Hyde in Stockport with my partner and her 3 children. I am still working as a postman in Stockport which I have now been doing for 15 years, and I'm enjoying life.

8.Any plans for the future?
My plans for the future are simple - work hard, earn lots of money, have great holidays abroad with the family and maybe hopefully do another film one day with everyone involved in Big Chimp.

9.What's your favourite memory from the Big Chimp shoot?
I wouldn't know where to start with my favourite memory of Big Chimp; it was all so good but just to name a few would be: Nick Worsley, one of my best friends, running away from Big Chimp and the Chinese guy with the camera - they were well funny. Also, when both chimps hold hands and go off into the sunset, and also the fight with Dinosaur in the forest was really good too.
